Academic Biography: Dr. Lillian Wong has completed over 15 applied research projects, given over 120 presentations including 30 plenary and invited speeches at conferences around the world, and published articles in the area of applied linguistics. She has been actively involved in the TESOL International Association since 2000. She was Chair of the TESOL Professional Development Committee (2005-2006) and served on the TESOL Board of Directors (2012-2015), the central governance body composed of 12 members elected by 13,000 members worldwide. She is currently Chair of the Research and Professional Development Committee (RPDC) and Coordinator of the Language Education SIG for CAES. She also serves on the Editorial Board of the Asian Journal of Applied Linguistics, Journal of Asia EAP and was in charge of the Postgraduate Diploma in English Language Teaching and a range of large-scale in-service English teacher development programmes commissioned by the Hong Kong Education Bureau. She was Chair of the Academic English Symposium on "Research into Practice in the Four-year Curriculum" held in June 2012 and Chair of the International Conference on “Faces of English: Theory, Practice and Pedagogy” held in June 2015.
